water

water

This is not my photo, but I just felt at such ease staring at it for the past ten minutes that I just had to post it.

What this mesmerizing photo taught me was that water has the incredible ability to calm our minds and hearts.

Water provides a space of fluidity. In and around the tranquility of water, ease of mind replaces the business of thinking, and we can’t help but naturally gravitate into its depths.

It’s no wonder everyone wants to live by the ocean. That same power and magical ability can also be found in any water, from a glassy lake, calm river, or still bath.

Consider taking the time today to be present in the fullness of water. Stare into the depths of water, steep yourself like a bag of tea, and let your mind and heart rest.

I will end with a quote from an eloquent yet powerful take on water by Bruce Lee:

“Be water, my friend.

Empty your mind.

Be formless, shapeless, like water.

You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.

You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle.

You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.

Now water can flow or it can crash.

Be water, my friend.”
